Mircea Oprea charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mircea Oprea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 12th match minute, Balmosesti was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Oprea to maneuver through the defense. Teodor Nandriș struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Emilian Bucurescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gheboaia CSS. The audience was convinced that Horaţiu Negulescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristian Iorgovan was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Balmosesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horaţiu Negulescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Teodor Nandriș made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Petru Aldulescu in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilian Bucurescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cornel Gorcea kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. If Ionel Seţeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A well placed Ionel Seţeanu short distance shot in the 90th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Nistor Culiță kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The Balmosesti supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Balmosesti would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
