Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Matei Cristoiu to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matei Cristoiu in the 58th minute of play forced Zalanpatak's goalkeeper Nicodim Stanciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Ploiesti's goalkeeper Iustinian Zberea had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Iacob Gârneață. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Iacob Gârneață managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zalanpatak's supporters rose to their feet, but Iacob Gârneață was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iustinian Zberea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zalanpatak's Nicodim Stanciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matei Cristoiu in the 94th minute of play. 101 minutes into the match, Ploiesti's Iosif Vasiloiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nicodim Stanciu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Zalanpatak players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ploiesti.
