A collision led to Berindul SC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Valeriu Onofrei hit a great ball. After having played for 9 minutes, Călin Fecioru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gangiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Călin Fecioru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Călin Fecioru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Gherghescu having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Viorel Călinescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Berindul SC's Leonard Bădila tried to score from far away in the 20th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Călin Fecioru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Gherghescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Călin Fecioru, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute Viorel Ponor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gică Tunar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silviu Lucan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Gherghescu having to interfere. Nae Niculescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Manuel Gherghescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st match minute, Gangiova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nae Niculescu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viorel Ponor in the 44th minute of play forced Gangiova's goalkeeper Gică Tunar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gică Tunar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viorel Ponor, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Berindul SC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, Gangiova's Gică Tunar got control of the ball when Codruț Mironov tried to sneak it across the goal line. 71 minutes into the match, Viorel Ponor dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gică Tunar, 0-2. Călin Fecioru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gică Tunar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viorel Ponor in the 81st minute of play. 86 minutes into the game, Nae Isaia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Berindul SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gangiova the free kick. In the 86th minute, Nae Isaia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nae Niculescu in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Gherghescu saved Berindul SC from getting behind. Nae Isaia was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 89th match minute, Berindul SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nae Isaia to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 93 minutes, Nae Niculescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gangiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nae Niculescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chants of Berindul SC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Gangiova had held the ball for most of the match.
