Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Bolovanesti's Emil Izvoranu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ciobotani's Cornel Vidican proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Ciobotani from getting a goal against them. After having played for 7 minutes, Șerban Botgros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ciobotani's supporters crossed their fingers, but Șerban Botgros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 14 played minutes Bolovanesti got a freekick which was hit by Ilie Antipa. Dorel Maruță showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Șerban Botgros, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When Rareș Biriș fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolovanesti's protests and gave Rareș Biriș a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bolovanesti! Nicu Axinia struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Dorel Maruță didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ciobotani. Eliodor Bărbuceanu charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicu Axinia in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal.
