Cornel Vidican showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Popovici, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Cornel Vidican made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vali Ortacu in the 12th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maxim Ciuvică during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 19th minute, Maxim Ciuvică hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Valentin Taşcă, 20 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Cornel Vidican was a little too slow when Maxim Ciuvică got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 1-1. 34 minutes into the game, Vartanesti AFC's Vali Ortacu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cornel Vidican made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. 37 minutes into the match, Vartanesti AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nicu Axinia came free, but Iacob Șeicaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th match minute, Vartanesti AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aron Acatincăi to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrian Cartiș during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ciobotani booed when Vartanesti AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Cartiș didn't get a good kick on the ball. The supporters of Ciobotani booed when Vartanesti AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aron Acatincăi didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pavel Popovici to make the kick off. Iacob Șeicaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelian Oncescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vali Ortacu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vali Ortacu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Cornel Vidican tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Vali Ortacu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vartanesti AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vali Ortacu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornel Vidican breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pavel Popovici in the 65th minute of play forced Ciobotani's goalkeeper Cornel Vidican to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pavel Popovici sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vartanesti AFC's Pavel Popovici managed to work through Ciobotani's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Pavel Popovici dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 82nd minute, Vali Ortacu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cornel Vidican was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. With a little luck, Vartanesti AFC's Iacob Șeicaru got control of the ball when Șerban Botgros tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vartanesti AFC's Gelu Păunescu got a free kick in the 87th minute. Nicu Axinia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Șeicaru having to interfere. If Pavel Popovici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vartanesti AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
