Sabin Spirache sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gabriel Chificeac struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Octavian Neculuță didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brinzeni. Gabriel Chificeac might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavian Neculuță. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Chificeac ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Leontin Buzincu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brinzeni's supporters rose to their feet, but Leontin Buzincu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octavian Neculuță breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Sabin Spirache's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ionel Iovulescu was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Sergiu Mănescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ionel Iovulescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabin Spirache in the 37th minute of the match. Leontin Buzincu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Brinzeni defense, Sabin Spirache kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ionel Iovulescu. The Brinzeni fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ionel Iovulescu should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Brinzeni's Ionel Iovulescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Brinzeni from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Brinzeni's Ionel Iovulescu got control of the ball when Sabin Spirache tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Sergiu Mănescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the game, Cornel Boerescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brinzeni's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Secaleni the free kick. After 72 minutes, Horea Greculescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Secaleni and the Brinzeni players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee ignored Secaleni's protests and gave Mădălin Dragu a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Brinzeni booed when Secaleni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Dragu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th match minute, Secaleni was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horea Greculescu to maneuver through the defense. Cornel Mărculescu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Octavian Neculuță. Secaleni's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Leontin Buzincu took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Octavian Neculuță. Octavian Neculuță dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ionel Iovulescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergiu Mănescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute. 99 minutes into the match, Brinzeni's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Mănescu came free, but Ionel Iovulescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Secaleni players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
