After 36 minutes, Luca Hârșu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C Rapid Bucuresti and the F.C. Viitorul Șieu players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in F.C. Viitorul Șieu's zone, Gigi Nae stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gelu Iordache came out of the goal and Gigi Nae tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Petru Voineag could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Gelu Iordache made a huge save. In the 61st minute Luca Hârșu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gelu Iordache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Gelu Iordache successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Emilian Barbăsură managed to get in a good position for a shot. F.C. Viitorul Șieu's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilian Barbăsură was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Panait Iorgu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. F.C Rapid Bucuresti made a substitution. Cezar Săliştean replaced Gigi Nae.
