The audience thought a goal was coming when Marian Maghiran got free with Iacob Povară in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA's Iacob Povară got control of the ball when Vasile Angelescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute, Francisc Ciocoiu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Bîndean was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 39 minutes, Vasile Angelescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Inter Craiova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vasile Angelescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th match minute, F.C CLUJ MEDICINA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilie Danciu to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Gheorghe Bociort shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Bîndean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marian Maghiran to strike the kick off in the second half. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 72nd of the match, Luca Pancu tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but David Bîndean got in the way and made a wonderful save. Vasile Angelescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iacob Povară having to make a save. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
