After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Lucian Cucu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ruseni's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucian Cucu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viktor Gabrieň breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 13th minute Lucian Cucu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Gabrieň saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Iurie Afteni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Iurie Afteni had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viktor Gabrieň. Bolduresti FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iurie Afteni was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Gheorghe Triboi's late challenge caught a Ruseni's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gheorghe Triboi helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ruseni booed when Bolduresti FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristjan Vernik didn't get a good kick on the ball. Viktor Gabrieň took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Cucu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 33rd minute, Iurie Afteni made a precise shot to the right of Viktor Gabrieň. Bolduresti FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Sandu Caraman charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandu Caraman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bolduresti FC's Kristjan Vernik got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sinforiano Domenech blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Igor Vultur having to make a save. 45 minutes into the game, Kristjan Vernik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bolduresti FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ruseni the free kick. Kristjan Vernik hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Viktor Gabrieň made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucian Cucu in the 47th minute of play. Viktor Gabrieň stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Iurie Afteni's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The Bolduresti FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ruseni were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucian Cucu to strike the kick off in the second half. Igor Vultur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Gonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Bolduresti FC's zone, Lucian Cucu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viktor Gabrieň came out of the goal and Lucian Cucu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anton Gonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Igor Vultur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucian Cucu in the 90th minute of play forced Bolduresti FC's goalkeeper Viktor Gabrieň to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iurie Aftenis short, quick shot in the 92ndth minute got Viktor Gabrieň to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Ruseni players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
