Dorin Vârtosu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugeniusz Sokolski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgiliu Ilies charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Virgiliu Ilies the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mîndresti FC's Virgiliu Ilies got a free kick in the 4th minute. Dorin Vârtosu made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Constantin Pesmet sent off a good shot on target. Mîndresti FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Valentin Medelean 7 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 9 minutes into the game, FC Leova's Valentin Medelean nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorin Vârtosu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 13 minutes into the game, Mîndresti FC's Gicu Lazãr nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Florin Cheptene made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 21st minute Petrea Corlãteanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florin Cheptene saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cornel Dumitras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th minute, Valentin Medelean hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgiliu Ilies kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Valentin Medelean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Leova's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Medelean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugeniusz Sokolski might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dorin Vârtosu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugeniusz Sokolski ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 34th minute, Constantin Pesmet made a precise shot to the right of Dorin Vârtosu. Mîndresti FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. 36 minutes into the match, Eugeniusz Sokolski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dorin Vârtosu. Mîndresti FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eugeniusz Sokolski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. If Valentin Medelean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dorin Vârtosu came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by FC Leova's Cornel Dumitras. But to his dismay, Cornel Dumitras quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Constantin Pesmet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugeniusz Sokolski was the one to do the kick off. Gicu Lazãr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florin Cheptene having to interfere. If Valentin Medelean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Eugeniusz Sokolski came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the FC Leova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eugeniusz Sokolski couldn't finish the play. Mîndresti FC's Dorin Vârtosu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantin Pesmet in the 58th minute of play. Dorin Vârtosu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eugeniusz Sokolski's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. If Valentin Medelean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Mîndresti FC's goal looked a bit too open when Constantin Pesmet came free, but Dorin Vârtosu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Valentin Medelean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valentin Pârlea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Valentin Medelean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Mîndresti FC fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Mîndresti FC's Gicu Lazãr looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Cornel Dumitras recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 78 played minutes Mîndresti FC got a freekick which was hit by Virgiliu Ilies. After some careless play in the Mîndresti FC defense, Eugeniusz Sokolski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dorin Vârtosu. The Mîndresti FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dorin Vârtosu should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugeniusz Sokolski in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dorin Vârtosu saved Mîndresti FC from getting behind. Dorin Vârtosu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valentin Medelean, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The score was 6-3 after a penalty in the 94th minute, where Mîndresti FC:s Eduard Barbãneagrã tricked FC Leova:s Florin Cheptene with a difficult ball by the left post. Dorin Vârtosu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugeniusz Sokolski in the 98th minute of play. In the 99th minute of the match FC Leova got a corner. Mîndresti FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eugeniusz Sokolski ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to FC Leova's Constantin Pesmet getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. There was no doubt that FC Leova were the better team. FC Leova's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
