Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Valentin Cornea stood somewhat misplaced when Boris Arnãut came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 3 minute. After a rather tough play, Cornell University's Anatolie Cotofanã got a free kick in the 8th minute. The long shot by Filip Pãcuraru in the 8th minute really tested Valentin Cornea's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Alexandru Nazaria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Cornell University. Grigore Comerzan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Viorel Conac. 1-1. In the 26th minute, Iosif Castravet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Boris Arnãut managed to get in a good position for a shot. Otaci's supporters rose to their feet, but Boris Arnãut was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Cornea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 35 minutes, Alexandru Nazaria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Otaci's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandru Nazaria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute, Boris Arnãut fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Valentin Cornea, passed just outside the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Cornell University's zone, Alexandru Nazaria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Cornea came out of the goal and Alexandru Nazaria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Boris Arnãut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Otaci's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boris Arnãut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boris Arnãut sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Cornell University's Valentin Cornea got control of the ball when Alexandru Nazaria tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Boris Arnãut stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Valentin Cornea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Boris Arnãut's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. After having played for 58 minutes, Alexandru Nazaria managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Otaci's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandru Nazaria was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nicu Iordan hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iosif Castravet in the 62nd minute of play forced Otaci's goalkeeper Viorel Conac to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Iosif Castravet came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Cornell University fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iosif Castravet couldn't finish the play. Alexandru Nazaria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Cornea having to interfere. When Otaci's Boris Arnãut in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Boris Arnãut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Valentin Cornea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Cornea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandru Nazaria in the 90th minute of play. A collision led to Otaci getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Marian Cãldare hit a great ball. The Otaci supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cornell University's performance. The match ended with a win for Cornell University.
