Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Edžus Lesčinskis started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Kristiāns Puziņš fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Putneni's protests and gave Kristiāns Puziņš a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Putneni's Kristiāns Puziņš got a free kick in the 4th minute. Jēkabs Pumpurs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dzintars Čalīts having to interfere. The supporters of Matishi booed when Putneni was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drosmis Leikucis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matishi's Persijs Bērsons couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Putneni. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alnis Kupinskis in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anšlavs Pavasars prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edžus Lesčinskis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Jēkabs Pumpurs made a precise shot to the right of Dzintars Čalīts. Putneni's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. A collision led to Putneni getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Kristiāns Puziņš hit a great ball. Persijs Bērsons, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jēkabs Pumpurss short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Dzintars Čalīts to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Jēkabs Pumpurs came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Matishi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jēkabs Pumpurs couldn't finish the play. Daumants Cinkurs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, Alnis Kupinskis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anšlavs Pavasars. Matishi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alnis Kupinskis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daumants Cinkurs to make the kick off. Dzintars Čalīts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jēkabs Pumpurs, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jēkabs Pumpurs in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dzintars Čalīts saved Putneni from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Edžus Lesčinskis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anšlavs Pavasars was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. If Edžus Lesčinskis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alnis Kupinskis came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Putneni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alnis Kupinskis couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Edžus Lesčinskis took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Anšlavs Pavasars to make any attempt to save it. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Alnis Kupinskis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Putneni's supporters rose to their feet, but Alnis Kupinskis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anšlavs Pavasars breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Kristiāns Puziņš took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Anšlavs Pavasars to make any attempt to save it. Jēkabs Pumpurs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jēkabs Pumpurs in the 78th minute of play forced Putneni's goalkeeper Dzintars Čalīts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Edžus Lesčinskis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 96 minutes of play, Putneni's Alnis Kupinskis made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anšlavs Pavasars was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Putneni supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Putneni would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
