Jēkabs Pumpurs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Ritvars Builis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laimis Surkovs-Vāvere's late challenge caught a Lopatiski's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laimis Surkovs-Vāvere helped the player get up and apologised. Laimis Surkovs-Vāvere hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. 5 minutes into the match, Lopatiski's Francis Vamzis broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 10th minute Daumants Cinkurs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ritvars Builis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raits Orups recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, Jēkabs Pumpurs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matishi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Anšlavs Pavasars showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raits Orups in the 25th minute of the match. Daumants Cinkurs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ritvars Builis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Raits Orups sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, Matishi's goal looked a bit too open when Raits Orups came free, but Anšlavs Pavasars reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anšlavs Pavasars stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raits Orups's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daumants Cinkurs to make the kick off. Raits Orups could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Anšlavs Pavasars made a huge save. Lopatiski's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matishi the free kick. Ritvars Builis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daumants Cinkurs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raits Orups was extremely unlucky when he, in the 94th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. For all the effort they put into the match, the Lopatiski players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Matishi.
