After 4 minutes, Emilis Steponavičius mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Palanga and the Aleksandriya players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Aleksandriya booed when FC Palanga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilis Steponavičius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vytautas Gasparaitis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute, FC Palanga's Rimas Matulas seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rimas Matulas the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Palanga protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rimas Matulas had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 10 minutes into the game, one of FC Palanga:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Aleksandriya a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aldas Savenas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Palanga's Einaras Boguckis. 0-1. Darius Macionis was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Emilis Steponavičius. Vytautas Gasparaitis in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Darius Macionis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Vytautas Gasparaitis took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darius Macionis. Darius Macionis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. During the 57th minute of the match Gvidas Dolgacius completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Gvidas Dolgacius a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 58th match minute, Aleksandriya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gvidas Dolgacius to maneuver through the defense. Zilvinas Mazeika sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Palanga's Einaras Boguckis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save FC Palanga from getting a goal against them. Darius Macionis came out of the goal and Vytautas Gasparaitis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aleksandriya's Zilvinas Mazeika got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Zilvinas Mazeika had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardas Gvildys got free with Einaras Boguckis in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Aleksandriya players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
