Liudas Rizevičius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juozas Dagilis, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of FK Maciuiciai:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Joniskis:s goal. If Vėjas Kivilius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Joniskis's Alfonsas Kančelskis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vėjas Kivilius in the 18th minute of play. A collision led to FC Joniskis getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Svajūnas Eigirdas hit a great ball. Eigirdas Adomkevičius's late challenge caught a FC Joniskis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eigirdas Adomkevičius helped the player get up and apologised. Eigirdas Adomkevičius hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice moves Klemensas Labuckas could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Liudas Rizevičius however easily saved by the left post. After a rather tough play, FK Maciuiciai's Rytis Dovydaitis got a free kick in the 26th minute. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Zigmantas Aponkus put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Alfonsas Kančelskis. The audience was convinced that Vėjas Kivilius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfonsas Kančelskis was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Arvydas Krasauskas kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After some careless play in the FK Maciuiciai defense, Klemensas Labuckas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Liudas Rizevičius. The FK Maciuiciai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Liudas Rizevičius should have stopped the shot. Liudas Rizevičius made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Klemensas Labuckas sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the game, Laimutis Bagdžiūnas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FK Maciuiciai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Joniskis the free kick. In the 42nd minute, Laimutis Bagdžiūnas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FK Maciuiciai's Zigmantas Aponkus got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juozas Dagilis to make the kick off. Vėjas Kivilius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Alfonsas Kančelskis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Svajūnas Eigirdas's late challenge caught a FK Maciuiciai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee ignored FC Joniskis's protests and gave Vidas Remeika a yellow card for diving instead. In the 59th minute, Vidas Remeika hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, FK Maciuiciai's Rimas Garbužas tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Zigmantas Aponkus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonsas Kančelskis having to interfere. Klemensas Labuckas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liudas Rizevičius having to interfere. Juozas Dagilis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liudas Rizevičius having to interfere. Klemensas Labuckas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to FK Maciuiciai getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Rytis Dovydaitis hit a great ball. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Joniskis's goalkeeper Alfonsas Kančelskis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vėjas Kivilius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonsas Kančelskis having to interfere. In the 90th match minute, FC Joniskis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vidas Remeika to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, FK Maciuiciai's goal looked a bit too open when Klemensas Labuckas came free, but Liudas Rizevičius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juozas Dagilis struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Liudas Rizevičius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Joniskis. 97 minutes into the match, FK Maciuiciai's goal looked a bit too open when Klemensas Labuckas came free, but Liudas Rizevičius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
