The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Juozas Jagutis made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Domas Širvys sent off a good shot on target. The referee felt a red card was in order, 15 minutes into the game, when Ąžuolas Tvirbutas put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of FC Prockai:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Putinų Šernai:s goal. Juozas Jagutis went to the wrong direction when Eitautas Burokas was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 22nd minute, Vytenis Butėnas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute of the match, Domas Širvys got a very nice opportunity to score, but Juozas Jagutis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pranas Slavinskas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Prockai's Juozas Jagutis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albinas Pečiukas in the 30th minute of play. Jurgis Kučinskas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Vidas Sivickas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Albinas Pečiukas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juozas Jagutis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
