Laurynas Kubilius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Žilvinas Bandorius in the 3rd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Saulius Tarasevičius during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th match minute, NEMUNAS KAUNAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saulius Tarasevičius to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute Rūtenis Baracevičius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramūnas Knieža saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanislovas Strielkauskas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Laurynas Kubilius having to make a save. 14 minutes into the game, Vismantas Beinoris was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Kungiskiai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave NEMUNAS KAUNAS the free kick. The supporters of NEMUNAS KAUNAS booed when FC Kungiskiai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vismantas Beinoris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramūnas Knieža made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Žydrūnas Janauskas in the 19th minute of play. In the 24th minute, Žydrūnas Janauskas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Kungiskiai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a rather tough play, NEMUNAS KAUNAS's Stasys Rudys got a free kick in the 27th minute. Žilvinas Bandorius struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Laurynas Kubilius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for NEMUNAS KAUNAS. 42 minutes into the game, Žilvinas Bandorius lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Laurynas Kubilius. After 46 played minutes FC Kungiskiai got a freekick which was hit by Domas Kabašinskas. After the first half FC Kungiskiai were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stanislovas Strielkauskas to make the kick off. Žilvinas Bandorius sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Laurynas Kubilius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Žilvinas Bandorius in the 56th minute of play. Žilvinas Bandorius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Laurynas Kubilius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Domas Kabašinskas hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. When Stanislovas Strielkauskas came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the NEMUNAS KAUNAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stanislovas Strielkauskas couldn't finish the play. FC Kungiskiai's Laurynas Kubilius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislovas Strielkauskas in the 65th minute of play. Laurynas Kubilius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aistis Kuprys in the 66th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Žydrūnas Janauskas got free with Ramūnas Knieža in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rūtenis Fabijanskas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vismantas Beinoris got his second yellow card in the match during the 72nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The audience was convinced that Žilvinas Bandorius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Laurynas Kubilius was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. 81 minutes into the match, Stanislovas Strielkauskas notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of FC Kungiskiai's Laurynas Kubilius. Laurynas Kubilius was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Henrikas Žemaitis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Laurynas Kubilius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stasys Rudys in the 86th minute of play forced FC Kungiskiai's goalkeeper Laurynas Kubilius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Domas Kabašinskas during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th minute, Domas Kabašinskas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Stasys Rudys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurynas Kubilius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Henrikas Žemaitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eligijus Tamošiūnas kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Žydrūnas Janauskas took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ramūnas Knieža. Ramūnas Knieža dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. The NEMUNAS KAUNAS manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing FC Kungiskiai to win.
