Girkantas Bikas came out of the goal and Raimondas Kelmys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th minute, Edmundas Donskis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th match minute, Eglynas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irmantas Bakaitis to maneuver through the defense. After 22 minutes, Raimondas Kelmys mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eglynas and the Legionas players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Eglynas getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Raimondas Kelmys hit a great ball. Rupertas Jančys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irmantas Garbužas having to interfere. Rupertas Jančys could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Irmantas Garbužas made a huge save. After some careless play in the Legionas defense, Raimondas Kelmys kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Girkantas Bikas. The Legionas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Girkantas Bikas should have stopped the shot. Irmantas Bakaitis hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Rupertas Jančys could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Irmantas Garbužas made a huge save. Rupertas Jančys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Faustão Paraíba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Irmantas Garbužas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Eglynas's goal looked a bit too open when Rupertas Jančys came free, but Irmantas Garbužas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Eglynas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a rather tough play, Eglynas's Edmundas Donskis got a free kick in the 86th minute. Legionas's Vydas Dačys suffered a concussion after 90 minutes and had to leave the field. Rapolas Petryla charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rapolas Petryla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Legionas's Arūnas Pukelis was substituted for Vydas Dačys. Rapolas Petryla hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Eglynas walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
