Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Len Claydon started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Moreton's goalkeeper Kirk Higginson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Len Claydon fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moreton's protests and gave Len Claydon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Len Claydon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kirk Higginson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denzil Pope in the 10th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, Wymondham's goal looked a bit too open when Len Claydon came free, but Jacob Knight reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Kasey Jennings hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Vic Morcom made a precise shot to the right of Kirk Higginson. Moreton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Sonny Dawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Moreton's Reuben Harland got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the game, Sonny Dawson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wymondham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moreton the free kick. Sonny Dawson kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. If Sidney Hopker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute, Wymondham's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Trevor Hayes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 43rd minute, Len Claydon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 45th match minute, Moreton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norman Haskell to maneuver through the defense. Kirk Higginson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Shaw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sonny Dawson to strike the kick off in the second half. Vic Morcom charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vic Morcom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Moreton booed when Wymondham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vic Morcom didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the match, John Shaw notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Moreton's Kirk Higginson. Kirk Higginson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Trevor Hayes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Jacob Knight tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Moreton booed when Wymondham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Shaw didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacob Knight showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trevor Hayes in the 68th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 73 minutes into the game, when Norman Haskell put in a rough tackle. The score was 0-4 after a penalty in the 75th minute, where Wymondham:s Garry Dunning tricked Moreton:s Kirk Higginson with a difficult ball by the left post. In the 86th minute, Trevor Hayes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Wymondham's zone, Trevor Hayes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Knight came out of the goal and Trevor Hayes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paul Plummer in the 89th minute of play forced Wymondham's goalkeeper Jacob Knight to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 99th minute, Trevor Hayes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Wymondham had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
