Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pierre Rashleigh was the one to do the kick off. Steven Jewson made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Philip Hughes sent off a good shot on target. Warren Middleton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steven Jewson having to interfere. Meols's supporters rose to their feet, but Johnny Parks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sonny Rashleigh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Pierre Rashleigh came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Meols fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pierre Rashleigh couldn't finish the play. Ivan Spacey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute Pierre Rashleigh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Rashleigh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th minute, Warren Middleton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
