The attack was good, but when Kris Marston in the 16th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alex Castledine in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacob Wheeler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Chaz Stone's late challenge caught a Sutton in Ashfield City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Chaz Stone helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rudston getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Chaz Stone hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Sutton in Ashfield City's goal looked a bit too open when Ken Notley came free, but Andre Holt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Castledine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Wheeler having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Marston in the 25th minute of play forced Rudston's goalkeeper Jacob Wheeler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Castledine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudston's Jacob Wheeler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Castledine in the 37th minute of play. Trev Pascoe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ken Notley was the one to do the kick off. Ken Notley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Holt having to interfere. Jacob Wheeler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Marston in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Kris Marston fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 60th minute, Alex Castledine left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sutton in Ashfield City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ken Notley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Andre Holt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75thth minute of the game Trev Pascoe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sutton in Ashfield City's Andre Holt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 75th match minute, Sutton in Ashfield City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristopher Golding to maneuver through the defense. Rudston's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Andre Hubbard in the 78th minute. In the 95th minute, Kris Marston had to leave the field with a concussion. Clive Hughes charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clive Hughes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rudston fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 95th minute. Penalty! Sutton in Ashfield City's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
