Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 4th minute of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergen Sergen in the 9th minute of the match. Jay Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 11th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jay Jowsey. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Jean Carl Cassar Torreggiani got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 20th minute, one of Attard Gunners:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Attard Gunners. 30 minutes into the match, Sergen Sergen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergen Sergen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergen Sergen in the 73rd minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Sergen Sergen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dante Lacasa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Gaona got free with Jay Jowsey in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Attard Gunners's Adrian Savona was substituted for Sergen Sergen. Joel Gaona charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Gaona the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Attard Gunners booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Gaona didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Attard Gunners players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
