The referee ignored Spαtovon BC's protests and gave Thodoris Kousas a yellow card for diving instead. Thodoris Kousas hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Fragiskos Koutsomitras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitris Kalaboukidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Marios Papachristoulis kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Kostas Manouselis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Fragiskos Koutsomitras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Dimitris Kalaboukidis managed to get in a good position for a shot. AXAIKOS's supporters rose to their feet, but Dimitris Kalaboukidis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fragiskos Koutsomitras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stamatis Tsagogeorgas got free with Nikolas Tochouroglou in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stamatis Tsagogeorgas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Nikolas Tochouroglou tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thodoris Kousas got his second yellow card in the match during the 26th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a rather tough play, Spαtovon BC's Thodoris Kousas got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute, Dimitris Kalaboukidis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AXAIKOS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Dimitris Kalaboukidis notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Spαtovon BC's Fragiskos Koutsomitras. Fragiskos Koutsomitras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stamatis Tsagogeorgas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Spαtovon BC's goal looked a bit too open when Petros Skiadopoulos came free, but Fragiskos Koutsomitras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 59th minute, Stamatis Tsagogeorgas made a precise shot to the right of Nikolas Tochouroglou. AXAIKOS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Nikolas Tochouroglou came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Spαtovon BC's Stamatis Tsagogeorgas. But to his dismay, Stamatis Tsagogeorgas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dimitris Kalaboukidis got free with Fragiskos Koutsomitras in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Kostas Manouselis managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 90th minute Stamatis Tsagogeorgas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nikolas Tochouroglou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 3-5 when Dimitris Kalaboukidis sped through Spαtovon BC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fragiskos Koutsomitras. AXAIKOS's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
