With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alkinoos Kafes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Paliós booed when Ayios Nikólaos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vassilis Marinos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Stratos Karopoulos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paliós's supporters rose to their feet, but Stratos Karopoulos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alkinoos Kafes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Lakis Tomaras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alkinoos Kafes was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. When Alexandros Panopodis came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Ayios Nikólaos fans jumped to their feet. Alkinoos Kafes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stratos Karopoulos in the 65th minute of the match. Ayios Nikólaos's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Stratos Karopoulos scored to the left of an out of position Alkinoos Kafes, making the score, 0-1. Stratos Karopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Alkinoos Kafes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Ayios Nikólaos's zone, Lakis Tomaras stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alkinoos Kafes came out of the goal and Lakis Tomaras tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paliós's Dimitris Kyriopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandros Panopodis in the 93rd minute of play. The supporters of Paliós booed when Ayios Nikólaos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theofanis Papadopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vassilis Marinos fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ayios Nikólaos's protests and gave Vassilis Marinos a yellow card for diving instead. Vassilis Marinos hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Paliós played a much better game than Ayios Nikólaos and deserved their victory. The Ayios Nikólaos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
