Ολυμπος's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kleon Portokaloglou was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dimitris Peponas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Avraam Zolotas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Ολυμπος's goalkeeper Prodromos Chatzinathanail had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Babbis Spyridakis. When Nikos Tokalidis in the 23rd play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Prodromos Chatzinathanail kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Néa Alikarnassos FC's Dimitris Peponas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kleon Portokaloglou in the 29th minute of play. Nikos Tokalidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prodromos Chatzinathanail having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, Ολυμπος was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonis Kasoumis to maneuver through the defense. After 32 minutes, Avraam Zolotas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ολυμπος and the Néa Alikarnassos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Ολυμπος was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Avraam Zolotas to maneuver through the defense. 43 minutes into the game, Babbis Spyridakis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. In the 52nd minute, Babbis Spyridakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 54thth minute of the game Babbis Spyridakis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ολυμπος's Prodromos Chatzinathanail was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Babbis Spyridakis in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Prodromos Chatzinathanail prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Prodromos Chatzinathanail showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Tokalidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Nikos Tokalidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Prodromos Chatzinathanail having to interfere. Babbis Spyridakis struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Prodromos Chatzinathanail didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Néa Alikarnassos FC. Néa Alikarnassos FC's Nikos Tokalidis got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Prodromos Chatzinathanail showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Tokalidis in the 73rd minute of the match. Konstantinos Kefaloukos charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Konstantinos Kefaloukos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ολυμπος getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Konstantinos Kefaloukos hit a great ball. After 84 played minutes, Néa Alikarnassos FC's Michalis Mavrikos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Prodromos Chatzinathanail came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Néa Alikarnassos FC reached it. Babbis Spyridakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prodromos Chatzinathanail showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Tokalidis, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Antonis Kasoumis kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Nikos Tokalidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
