The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee felt a red card was in order, 7 minutes into the game, when Dimitris Skatzos put in a rough tackle. When Dimitris Giannakakis fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Titanas Karpathou's protests and gave Dimitris Giannakakis a yellow card for diving instead. Dimitris Giannakakis kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match.
