In a very dangerous position, a player in Polystαfyllon fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 5th minute. Penalty! Anestis Koubilias went to the wrong direction when Simos Kakaris was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The audience was convinced that Stavros Vourousakis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Giorgos Rokkos was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Stavros Vourousakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Makis Siakkas got free with Anestis Koubilias in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Michalis Salpiggidis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Michalis Salpiggidis might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anestis Koubilias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Michalis Salpiggidis ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michalis Salpiggidis in the 57th minute of play forced Polystαfyllon's goalkeeper Anestis Koubilias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michalis Salpiggidis scored 2-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anestis Koubilias, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 67 minutes, Michalis Salpiggidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. o.f.i heraklio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michalis Salpiggidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Konstantinos Katsanevas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
