In the 18th minute, Nísos Ioannínon BC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Marios Vitalis fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 21st match minute, Khamilon BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitris Kakogiannis to maneuver through the defense. When Stamatis Papaloukas came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Nísos Ioannínon BC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stamatis Papaloukas couldn't finish the play. In the 26th match minute, Khamilon BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitris Kakogiannis to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Stamatis Papaloukas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nísos Ioannínon BC's supporters rose to their feet, but Stamatis Papaloukas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Timos Maratos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Khamilon BC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nísos Ioannínon BC the free kick. Kostas Orfanopoulos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timos Maratos having to interfere. Kostas Orfanopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iakovos Mountakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iakovos Mountakis in the 43rd minute of play forced Nísos Ioannínon BC's goalkeeper Stamatis Masouras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Iakovos Mountakis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in Nísos Ioannínon BC's zone, Iakovos Mountakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stamatis Masouras came out of the goal and Iakovos Mountakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Makis Christakoglou kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Stamatis Masouras stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marios Vitalis's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After 59 minutes, Makis Christakoglou mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nísos Ioannínon BC and the Khamilon BC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Nísos Ioannínon BC's zone, Iakovos Mountakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stamatis Masouras came out of the goal and Iakovos Mountakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 63 minutes into the match, Nísos Ioannínon BC's goal looked a bit too open when Marios Vitalis came free, but Stamatis Masouras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nísos Ioannínon BC's Stamatis Masouras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iakovos Mountakis in the 65th minute of play. With a little luck, Khamilon BC's Timos Maratos got control of the ball when Kostas Orfanopoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Kostas Orfanopoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stamatis Masouras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iakovos Mountakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the game, Marios Vitalis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Khamilon BC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nísos Ioannínon BC the free kick. In the 76th match minute, Khamilon BC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marios Vitalis to maneuver through the defense. Marios Vitalis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Stamatis Masouras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. During the 84th minute of the match Dimitris Kakogiannis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dimitris Kakogiannis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Nísos Ioannínon BC booed when Khamilon BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimitris Kakogiannis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikos Kabolis got in the 85th minute a good position and tried a long shot which to a great surprise passed a very astonished Timos Maratos. This was a shot which ended in a score of 1-1. Timos Maratos stood somewhat misplaced when Kostas Orfanopoulos came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 89 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orestis Leontaras in the 96th minute of play forced Nísos Ioannínon BC's goalkeeper Stamatis Masouras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Khamilon BC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Nísos Ioannínon BC's performance. The match ended with a win for Nísos Ioannínon BC.
