Rodhopσs's Pipis Mouratis got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pipis Mouratis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasios Dabizas having to interfere. Anastasios Dabizas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sotiris Servetas in the 24th minute of the match. Kouvarαs's Errikos Tsigos shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 26th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Iordanis Leontarakis but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Periklis Katevatis in the 28th minute of play forced Rodhopσs's goalkeeper Iordanis Leontarakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pipis Mouratis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasios Dabizas having to interfere. Kouvarαs's Anastasios Dabizas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Kastaniou in the 38th minute of play. Anastasios Dabizas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sotiris Servetas, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. The audience was convinced that Pipis Mouratis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anastasios Dabizas was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
