After having played for 6 minutes, Thanos Kapsimalis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. πεταμενοι's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thanos Kapsimalis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dean Snowdon got free with Sotos Tabakos in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kyriakos Vournas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Panos Karelas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kleanthis Macheras, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Panos Karelas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kleanthis Macheras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Kyriakos Vournas made a precise shot to the right of Sotos Tabakos. Ellinokastron BC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Kyriakos Vournas put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sotos Tabakos. 33 minutes into the match, Ellinokastron BC's goal looked a bit too open when Thanos Kapsimalis came free, but Sotos Tabakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Savas Tzolis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Panos Karelas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alekos Vedinoglou charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alekos Vedinoglou the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of πεταμενοι booed when Ellinokastron BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alekos Vedinoglou didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maunu Pölönen missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 39 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Sotos Tabakos right hand side. Kleanthis Macheras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Panos Karelas having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kyriakos Vournas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ellinokastron BC's Sotos Tabakos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kyriakos Vournas in the 51st minute of play. In the 54th minute Kyriakos Vournas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sotos Tabakos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Panos Karelas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kleanthis Macheras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, πεταμενοι's goalkeeper Panos Karelas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Savas Tzolis. With a little luck, πεταμενοι's Panos Karelas got control of the ball when Savas Tzolis tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Thanos Kapsimalis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Savas Tzolis got free with Panos Karelas in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sotos Tabakos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thanos Kapsimalis, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. A collision led to πεταμενοι getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Dimitris Spaneas hit a great ball. 78 minutes into the game, Kleanthis Macheras recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Panos Karelas. Kleanthis Macheras showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Dean Snowdon hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Savas Tzolis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Panos Karelas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanos Kapsimalis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ellinokastron BC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
