Kleanthis Macheras started the match with the kick off. Πανιώνιος's Apostolos Kefalopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thanos Politis in the 4th minute of play. With his leg Sotos Tabakos managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Πανιώνιος's Petros Patemtzis fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Ellinokastron BC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Anthimos Bakalopoulos hit a great ball. In the 12th minute, Argyris Papageorgatos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the game, Sotiris Vamvakoulas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Πανιώνιος's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ellinokastron BC the free kick. Aggelos Samanoglou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Sotos Tabakos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Πανιώνιος's goalkeeper Apostolos Kefalopoulos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aggelos Samanoglou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Sotos Tabakos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Apostolos Kefalopoulos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Savas Tzolis, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Thanos Politis charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thanos Politis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Πανιώνιος booed when Ellinokastron BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thanos Politis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aggelos Samanoglou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sotos Tabakos having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aggelos Samanoglou to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Aggelos Samanoglou who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ellinokastron BC's Sotos Tabakos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 54th minute, Dimitris Chatzistavros made a precise shot to the right of Sotos Tabakos. Ellinokastron BC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 57 minutes into the match, Ellinokastron BC's goal looked a bit too open when Petros Patemtzis came free, but Sotos Tabakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Πανιώνιος's goalkeeper Apostolos Kefalopoulos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Savas Tzolis. Kleanthis Macheras received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Apostolos Kefalopoulos came out and tried to block the shot, but Kleanthis Macheras slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 64th minute. In the 73rd match minute, Πανιώνιος was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitris Chatzistavros to maneuver through the defense. Πανιώνιος's attack was well implemented in the 75th minute, but when Petros Patemtzis was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Savas Tzolis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kleanthis Macheras in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Apostolos Kefalopoulos saved Πανιώνιος from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Petros Patemtzis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Πανιώνιος's supporters rose to their feet, but Petros Patemtzis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sotos Tabakos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aggelos Samanoglou in the 91st minute of play forced Ellinokastron BC's goalkeeper Sotos Tabakos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Πανιώνιος getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Sotiris Vamvakoulas hit a great ball.
