Valentinos Kyriakakoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermis Vrachnos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermis Vrachnos in the 20th minute of play forced Oxford University's goalkeeper Valentinos Kyriakakoglou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Oxford University's goal looked a bit too open when Ermis Vrachnos came free, but Valentinos Kyriakakoglou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The attack was good, but when Ermis Vrachnos in the 28th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The audience was convinced that Ntinos Podaras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valentinos Kyriakakoglou was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. After 74 minutes of play, Lárisa BC's Ermis Vrachnos made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Oxford University's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ermis Vrachnos 77 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. If Ermis Vrachnos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nikos Tevekelis struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Thymios Kazanas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oxford University.
