Panagiotis Vouras struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Paschalis Nikolaidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heraklion BC. Panagiotis Kabouridis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paschalis Nikolaidis having to interfere. Fivos Zazas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pantelis Patziaras in the 12th minute of play. A collision led to Heraklion BC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Ilias Nebegleras hit a great ball. A collision led to Heraklion BC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ntinos Tsoros hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Kallithea FC's Kyriakos Abelas tried to score from far away in the 17th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Fivos Zazas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pantelis Patziaras's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. The supporters of Heraklion BC booed when Kallithea FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kyriakos Abelas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 25 played minutes, Heraklion BC's Akis Pagarliotas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paschalis Nikolaidis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Heraklion BC reached it. After 27 played minutes Heraklion BC got a freekick which was hit by Ntinos Tsoros. After 28 minutes, Alexis Katsonis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heraklion BC and the Kallithea FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Kallithea FC booed when Heraklion BC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexis Katsonis didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Kyriakos Abelas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kallithea FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Kyriakos Abelas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fivos Zazas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Panagiotis Vouras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Paschalis Nikolaidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fivos Zazas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giorgos Maltezakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Panagiotis Kabouridis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panagiotis Kabouridis in the 45th minute of play forced Kallithea FC's goalkeeper Paschalis Nikolaidis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panagiotis Kabouridis struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Paschalis Nikolaidis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Heraklion BC. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Panagiotis Kabouridis to strike the kick off in the second half. Panagiotis Vouras received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Paschalis Nikolaidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kallithea FC's Pantelis Patziaras got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fanis Giannakidis kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Paschalis Nikolaidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panagiotis Kabouridis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Panagiotis Kabouridis put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Paschalis Nikolaidis. Giorgos Maltezakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fivos Zazas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kallithea FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Heraklion BC.
