In the 7th minute Dimitris Tsagarakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anestis Tsionas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Menios Perdikouris lost his temper 15 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Kharavyν:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of PANATHINAIKOS FC:s goal. Iason Stasinopoulos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dimitris Tsagarakis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anestis Tsionas having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nikos Sakallieros in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anestis Tsionas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dimitris Tsagarakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Anestis Tsionas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, Dimitris Sardanis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Anestis Tsionas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dimitris Tsagarakis made a kick off. Vaios Karagiozoglou scored 3-3 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Anestis Tsionas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Dimitris Tsagarakis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Manos Staboulis notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Kharavyν's Sotos Tatsidis. Sotos Tatsidis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, PANATHINAIKOS FC's Alexandros Dentsas got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 72nd minute, Dimitris Tsagarakis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Anestis Tsionas, passed just outside the right post. Kharavyν's Dimitris Tsagarakis got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
