The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanos Kourkouvelas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kostas Tsouloufas's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Babades FC's Stathis Meletos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christos Perivolakis in the 10th minute of play. If Kosmas Vakoufaris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kosmas Vakoufaris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Kosmas Vakoufaris came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the NINAGIO FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kosmas Vakoufaris couldn't finish the play. In the 21st minute Christos Perivolakis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stathis Meletos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nikos Logarakis in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thanos Kourkouvelas, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Babades FC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Iakovos Fytanidis hit a great ball. Nikos Logarakis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thanos Kourkouvelas having to make a save. Stathis Meletos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christos Perivolakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

NINAGIO FC's Kosmas Vakoufaris got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christos Perivolakis in the 59th minute of play forced Babades FC's goalkeeper Stathis Meletos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Giannis Kalabokis fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Babades FC's protests and gave Giannis Kalabokis a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes Babades FC got a freekick which was hit by Giannis Kalabokis. The NINAGIO FC fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when NINAGIO FC's Kosmas Vakoufaris looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Christos Perivolakis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Stathis Meletos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Kosmas Vakoufaris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Loukianos Eleftherakis hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Babbis Botonakis charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Babbis Botonakis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Babades FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 79th minute. Penalty! In the 80th minute there was a penalty for NINAGIO FC. Stavros Kakanoulias stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Stathis Meletos. 0-2. Kosmas Vakoufaris received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Stathis Meletos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kosmas Vakoufaris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Stathis Meletos made a huge save.
