Menelaos Tsouloufidis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Dionysis Kazatzis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Néa Smólia FC's Menelaos Tsouloufidis got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Anastasios Adamakoglou came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Pogoniskos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anastasios Adamakoglou couldn't finish the play. If Charis Stelatos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anastasios Adamakoglou fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Panos Trichas having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Menelaos Tsouloufidis got free with Dionysis Kazatzis in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Néa Smólia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ilias Lefkos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Menelaos Tsouloufidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Menelaos Tsouloufidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
