After a defensive mix-up in Melissokhσri BC's zone, Stathis Kolas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evripidis Psikos came out of the goal and Stathis Kolas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stathis Kolas in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evripidis Psikos saved Melissokhσri BC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Vafiokhorion BC's zone, Fotis Dimitropoulos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christos Karasimos came out of the goal and Fotis Dimitropoulos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fotis Dimitropoulos in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Christos Karasimos saved Vafiokhorion BC from getting behind. Minas Christodoulakis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christos Karasimos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 played minutes Vafiokhorion BC got a freekick which was hit by Stefanos Labrousis. Vafiokhorion BC's Christos Karasimos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fotis Dimitropoulos in the 35th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Vafiokhorion BC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 36th minute. Penalty! If Sakis Ntaliardos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Melissokhσri BC were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Vafiokhorion BC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marinos Martinelos took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Thymios Vamvakoulas heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After 58 minutes, Thymios Vamvakoulas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Melissokhσri BC and the Vafiokhorion BC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Melissokhσri BC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Thymios Vamvakoulas hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Vafiokhorion BC's Stathis Kolas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Evripidis Psikos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Periklis Skebis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evripidis Psikos having to interfere. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Melissokhσri BC. Marinos Martinelos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Christos Karasimos. 0-2. Makis Boulis kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Minas Christodoulakis in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christos Karasimos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 75 minutes into the match, Minas Christodoulakis dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Christos Karasimos, 0-3. With his leg Christos Karasimos managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when Melissokhσri BC's Fotis Dimitropoulos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Stathis Kolas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stathis Kolas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evripidis Psikos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Evripidis Psikos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stathis Kolas, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Evripidis Psikos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Periklis Skebis's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Evripidis Psikos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stathis Kolas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Melissokhσri BC's Evripidis Psikos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stathis Kolas in the 98th minute of play. The Melissokhσri BC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Melissokhσri BC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
