Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giannis Xenidis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dimitris Giotis in the 17th minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Sidiroϊnta's goal looked a bit too open when Lambros Lyberogiannis came free, but Giorgos Karagiannopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Dimitris Giotis fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sidiroϊnta's protests and gave Dimitris Giotis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th match minute, Sidiroϊnta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitris Giotis to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lambros Lyberogiannis in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giorgos Karagiannopoulos saved Sidiroϊnta from getting behind. Giannis Xenidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitris Giotis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fotis Veziropoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Stamatis Skopelitis was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 78 minutes had been played. Fotis Veziropoulos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Giorgos Karagiannopoulos made a huge save. 88 minutes into the match, Sidiroϊnta's goal looked a bit too open when Lambros Lyberogiannis came free, but Giorgos Karagiannopoulos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Fotis Veziropoulos got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Karakasνmion supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Karakasνmion would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
