Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Mesaíon's Evaggelos Peropoulos started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Apostolos Tsopelas during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 played minutes Afión FC got a freekick which was hit by Ermis Giannou. Giannis Pezikoglou, 12 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Afión FC's goal looked a bit too open when Evaggelos Peropoulos came free, but Stathis Kavafis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mesaíon booed when Afión FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christoforos Ligouris didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evaggelos Peropoulos struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Stathis Kavafis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mesaíon. Stathis Kavafis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Omiros Pitsoulakis, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Panagiotis Tsakmakidis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stathis Kavafis came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Mesaíon's Omiros Pitsoulakis. But to his dismay, Omiros Pitsoulakis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Stathis Kavafis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaggelos Peropoulos in the 35th minute of play. Louis Bartzilas didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 39th minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. When Akis Gaitanos came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Afión FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Akis Gaitanos couldn't finish the play. Akis Gaitanos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Panagiotis Tsakmakidis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The wind increased when Panagiotis Tsakmakidis made the kick off in the second half. Michalis Poursaitidis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Louis Bartzilas. Mesaíon's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Akis Gaitanos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Afión FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Akis Gaitanos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Louis Bartzilas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Louis Bartzilas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panagiotis Tsakmakidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mesaíon's Louis Bartzilas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panagiotis Tsakmakidis in the 66th minute of play. Dionysis Manesis charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dionysis Manesis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dionysis Manesis hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Akis Gaitanos in the 83rd minute of play forced Mesaíon's goalkeeper Louis Bartzilas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Afión FC's zone, Omiros Pitsoulakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stathis Kavafis came out of the goal and Omiros Pitsoulakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Panagiotis Tsakmakidis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Louis Bartzilas having to make a save. Louis Bartzilas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akis Gaitanos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Panagiotis Tsakmakidis in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Louis Bartzilas prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
