The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Panagiotis Tsiaris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Petriaνs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gorgómilos the free kick. 11 minutes into the match, Gorgómilos's Kostas Kalkounos broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Babbis Banasidis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dimitris Kanavopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fragiskos Poulianitis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Theocharis Koutromichalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Nikos Vlastos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Petriaνs's supporters rose to their feet, but Nikos Vlastos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Theocharis Koutromichalis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Theocharis Koutromichalis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fragiskos Poulianitis's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 32ndth minute of the game Fragiskos Poulianitis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gorgómilos's Theocharis Koutromichalis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andreas Pnevmatikatos kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andreas Pnevmatikatos during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gorgómilos's Andreas Pnevmatikatos got a free kick in the 40th minute. If Fragiskos Poulianitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theocharis Koutromichalis made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Nikos Vlastos sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Theocharis Koutromichalis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fragiskos Poulianitis in the 52nd minute of the match. If Nikos Vlastos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theocharis Koutromichalis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Vlastos, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Fragiskos Poulianitis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Theocharis Koutromichalis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Akakios Salaminiotis charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The supporters of Petriaνs booed when Gorgómilos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Akakios Salaminiotis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Panagiotis Tsiaris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Babbis Banasidis made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nikos Vlastos in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Theocharis Koutromichalis saved Gorgómilos from getting behind. Gorgómilos's Theocharis Koutromichalis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nikos Vlastos in the 77th minute of play. The supporters of Petriaνs booed when Gorgómilos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stergios Kalamatas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 80 minutes, Nikos Vlastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petriaνs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nikos Vlastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 85th minute of the match Andreas Pnevmatikatos completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Andreas Pnevmatikatos a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Andreas Pnevmatikatos kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Babbis Banasidis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Panagiotis Tsiaris went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Panagiotis Tsiaris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Babbis Banasidis made a huge save.
