The Gortynia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Stavrou in the 6th minute of play forced Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC's goalkeeper Catalino Gol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th match minute, Gortynia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giorgos Trabakoulos to maneuver through the defense. Catalino Gol came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Gortynia's Fotis Stergallas. But to his dismay, Fotis Stergallas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to Gortynia getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Giorgos Trabakoulos hit a great ball. In the 32nd match minute, Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ntinos Kaberis to maneuver through the defense. Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC's Catalino Gol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Stavrou in the 37th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC's Fragiskos Sardelis got a free kick in the 38th minute. The Gortynia fans' excitement grew in the 39th match minute when Gortynia's Thomas Stavrou looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Gortynia were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thomas Stavrou was the one to do the kick off. Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC's Catalino Gol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Thomas Stavrou's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Catalino Gol was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 53rd minute Giorgos Trabakoulos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Catalino Gol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fotis Stergallas got free with Catalino Gol in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC's Catalino Gol got control of the ball when Fotis Stergallas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Catalino Gol was a little too slow when Fotis Stergallas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-4. Lambis Spanoudakis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alekos Kourkouvelas struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Anestis Fanakos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Alekos Vasilatos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Α.Ο.Φ. ΠΕΤΑ FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alekos Vasilatos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anestis Fanakos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Gortynia's goal looked a bit too open when Christos Samanoglou came free, but Anestis Fanakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute, Michalis Skandalidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute Christos Samanoglou shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anestis Fanakos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Christos Samanoglou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
