Giannis Geronimidis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Koutsodimos's goal looked a bit too open when Lazaros Dimitratos came free, but Charilaos Kaplatzis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miltiadis Karageorgiou took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Charilaos Kaplatzis. Koutsodimos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Koutsodimos's goal looked a bit too open when Giannis Geronimidis came free, but Charilaos Kaplatzis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lakis Seremetis's late challenge caught a DownTown Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lakis Seremetis helped the player get up and apologised. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dimosthenis Papafotoulis during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dimosthenis Papafotoulis kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Nikos Labiris fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Stratos Papadamakis kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Charilaos Kaplatzis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giannis Geronimidis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charilaos Kaplatzis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giannis Geronimidis in the 35th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 38th minute by Nikos Labiris got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Lakis Seremetis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Giannis Geronimidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
When Lazaros Dimitratos came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the DownTown Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lazaros Dimitratos couldn't finish the play. Lakis Seremetis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renos Kechagias having to interfere. After having played for 64 minutes, Odysseas Abelas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DownTown Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Odysseas Abelas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Charilaos Kaplatzis managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when DownTown Boys's Lazaros Dimitratos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Renos Kechagias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lakis Seremetis, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After recieving a nice pass, DownTown Boys's Charalambos Passalis tried to score from far away in the 72nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Koutsodimos's Charilaos Kaplatzis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Koutsodimos from getting a goal against them. After 88 played minutes Koutsodimos got a freekick which was hit by Nektarios Tsatsos. Charilaos Kaplatzis was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lazaros Dimitratos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 89 minute of play. Renos Kechagias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lakis Seremetis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
