The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruninho Falcão showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Polo Abecia hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Panathinaikos's Kaká Ramos got control of the ball when Michalis Livas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fondas Salevris got free with Kaká Ramos in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Panathinaikos defense, Rubens Donato kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kaká Ramos. The Panathinaikos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kaká Ramos should have stopped the shot. Kaká Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Soulis Chatzoulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kalymnos F.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
