Tasos Sikalias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kostas Koutsis in the 12th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyriakos Mavratos in the 14th minute of play forced Gozilla's goalkeeper Zisis Pnevmatikatos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tasos Sikalias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vaggelis Malesios, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. The supporters of Gozilla booed when ael 1964 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Michel Hajs didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute Henri Valentič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zisis Pnevmatikatos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henri Valentič scored 1-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zisis Pnevmatikatos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zisis Pnevmatikatos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henri Valentič, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The ael 1964 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gozilla had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
