Toimi Ruisniemi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ale Hartikainen's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. 33 minutes into the match, FC Reipas's goal looked a bit too open when Ale Hartikainen came free, but Toimi Ruisniemi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Usko Ojala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute Hermanni Hietamäki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heikki Salminen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
After a defensive mix-up in FC Reipas's zone, Rafael Lindberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toimi Ruisniemi came out of the goal and Rafael Lindberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ale Hartikainen came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Tarnala IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ale Hartikainen couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute, Ale Hartikainen made a precise shot to the right of Toimi Ruisniemi. FC Reipas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Ale Hartikainen struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Toimi Ruisniemi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tarnala IFK. Rafael Lindberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 64 minutes, Valentin Viinikainen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tarnala IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valentin Viinikainen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Heikki Salminen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hermanni Hietamäki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Toimi Ruisniemi didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Tarnala IFK's Ale Hartikainen shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-4 in the ordered_time% minute. If Valentin Viinikainen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. Tarnala IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Reipas the free kick. The supporters of FC Reipas booed when Tarnala IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tapani Kurri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ale Hartikainen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Toimi Ruisniemi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Tarnala IFK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
