Linnamaa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeremias Laurila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute Jeremias Laurila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markku Kahra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, chelsea fc's goal looked a bit too open when Ilkka Niemelä came free, but Markku Kahra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Markku Kahra was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Ilkka Niemelä managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linnamaa's supporters rose to their feet, but Ilkka Niemelä was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Markku Kahra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeremias Laurila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Markku Kahra having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Veikka Kultanen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ilkka Niemelä stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 95th minute, Ilkka Niemelä fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Markku Kahra, passed just outside the right post. The chelsea fc fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Linnamaa were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
