Kuhaniemi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kyyry the free kick. In the 9th match minute, Kuhaniemi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahvo Nielikäinen to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Kuhaniemi getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Ahvo Nielikäinen hit a great ball. In the 11th minute of the match Ossi Pitkämäki shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Turo Brunila showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Kuhaniemi's goal looked a bit too open when Mikko Hotakainen came free, but Turo Brunila reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heikki Sillanpää in the 23rd minute of play forced Kuhaniemi's goalkeeper Turo Brunila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mikko Hotakainen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Turo Brunila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Turo Brunila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikko Hotakainen in the 33rd minute of the match. Kuhaniemi's Turo Brunila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikko Hotakainen in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of Kuhaniemi booed when Kyyry was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eero Etula didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Atte Nybacka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Atte Nybacka was the one to do the kick off. Mikko Hotakainen's late challenge caught a Kuhaniemi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mikko Hotakainen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kuhaniemi booed when Kyyry was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikko Hotakainen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jalmari Palenius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joni Kilponen, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Juha Piekkanen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jalmari Palenius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Kuhaniemi's Turo Brunila got control of the ball when Mikko Hotakainen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jalmari Palenius took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joni Kilponen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kyyry players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kuhaniemi.
