The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oskari Lotvonen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joakim Lätti having to make a save. If Oskari Lotvonen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mikko Setälä during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Hästö was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arvi Sairanen to maneuver through the defense. Oskari Lotvonen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute Oskari Lotvonen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joakim Lätti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute Kasklahti were awarded a corner. Ensio Hannus went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Kasklahti's Ensio Hannus to fire away a dangerous shot which Joakim Lätti despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Saku Vanhatalo in the 36th minute of play forced Hästö's goalkeeper Joakim Lätti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes Hästö got a freekick which was hit by Arvi Sairanen. 40 minutes into the game, Oskari Lotvonen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Joakim Lätti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Saku Vanhatalo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joakim Lätti was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Konsta Kokkonen charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Joakim Lätti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saku Vanhatalo in the 49th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some careless play in the Hästö defense, Oskari Lotvonen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joakim Lätti. The Hästö fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joakim Lätti should have stopped the shot. 80 minutes into the match, Hästö's goal looked a bit too open when Saku Vanhatalo came free, but Joakim Lätti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joakim Lätti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petri Ryynänen, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After 89 played minutes Hästö got a freekick which was hit by Rikhard Paappanen. Oskari Lotvonen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joakim Lätti having to interfere. Saku Vanhatalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petri Ryynänen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kasklahti had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
