The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in AJAX fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 52nd minute. Penalty! Atro Kanerva walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Alfred Hevonkorpi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Matthias Genzwürker went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Alfred Hevonkorpi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matthias Genzwürker's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. Taito Koivumäki's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfred Hevonkorpi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Taito Koivumäki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AJAX's supporters crossed their fingers, but Taito Koivumäki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
