After 2 played minutes FC Vehmainen got a freekick which was hit by Urpo Petriläinen. 6 minutes into the game, Käyhkää's Eetu Ikola nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paavo Niinimäki made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Eetu Ikola's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paavo Niinimäki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. Patrik Heinikainen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paavo Niinimäki having to make a save. When Patrik Heinikainen came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Käyhkää fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrik Heinikainen couldn't finish the play. Paavo Niinimäki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vili Kanto went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Paavo Niinimäki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrik Heinikainen in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Antti Heikkinen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Käyhkää fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Eetu Ikola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Paavo Niinimäki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Käyhkää's Eetu Ikola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paavo Niinimäki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Eetu Ikola came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Käyhkää fans jumped to their feet. In the 30th minute Elmo Siltavirta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paavo Niinimäki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, FC Vehmainen's goal looked a bit too open when Eetu Ikola came free, but Paavo Niinimäki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Heinikainen in the 36th minute of play forced FC Vehmainen's goalkeeper Paavo Niinimäki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paavo Niinimäki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eetu Ikola, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Paavo Niinimäki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antti Heikkinen in the 39th minute of the match. Käyhkää's Eetu Ikola got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 43 minutes into the game, Urpo Petriläinen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Vehmainen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Käyhkää the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Eetu Ikola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Käyhkää's supporters rose to their feet, but Eetu Ikola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paavo Niinimäki breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrik Heinikainen in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paavo Niinimäki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eevert Lahikainen made a kick off. Käyhkää's Eetu Ikola got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paavo Niinimäki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrik Heinikainen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the FC Vehmainen defense, Eetu Ikola kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paavo Niinimäki. The FC Vehmainen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paavo Niinimäki should have stopped the shot. 67 minutes into the match, Käyhkää's Eetu Ikola sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paavo Niinimäki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Paavo Niinimäki made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Eetu Ikola sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Patrik Heinikainen took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Paavo Niinimäki to make any attempt to save it. Eetu Ikola might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paavo Niinimäki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eetu Ikola ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrik Heinikainen in the 81st minute of play forced FC Vehmainen's goalkeeper Paavo Niinimäki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Vehmainen's goalkeeper Paavo Niinimäki, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Patrik Heinikainen was extremely unlucky when he, in the 84th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 87th minute, Käyhkää's Patrik Heinikainen ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Paavo Niinimäki. Paavo Niinimäki yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-9. Paavo Niinimäki stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Patrik Heinikainen's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. FC Vehmainen's Paavo Niinimäki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Vehmainen from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd match minute, Käyhkää was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vili Kanto to maneuver through the defense. Patrik Heinikainen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paavo Niinimäki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Käyhkää left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC Vehmainen.
